Strengthening feet with movement - isotonic exercises
After a lateral ankle sprain, the muscles within the feet will have lost strength due to inactivity and will need to be strengthened again in order to support the ankle, the bones of the foot and to provide stability to prevent the ankle rolling in or you going over on the ankle again.
The exercises here involve scrunching up a towel towards you with the toes, moving a towel across the floor with your foot and playing with a shuttlecock, both hitting it from foot to foot and away from you, and trying to pick it up with your toes, as seen above! It's harder than it seems! You can make it a competition between your two feet, or with other players, injured or not!
